I have created a bee animation where the bee floats for a few seconds and then bounces up and comes back down. The problem is that when the bee bounces up, it goes right off the canvas which gives and ugly clipping look. I have a full screen background with a small canvas for the bee in the middle of the browser.

See around second 6 of this vidoe - https://essbucket.s3.amazonaws.com/clipping.mp4

Is there a way to tell spine to make the bee smaller then the canvas so that it will not clip when it bounces up?

I'd suggest to make the canvas as big as your background element. Then you can use the scale configuration parameter when creating the widget in JavaScript to make your bee smaller or bigger spine-runtimes/spine-ts at 3.6.
