dataField optionally should be described in the IDE if you use intellisense/autocomplete.
It helps you specify what property on your component or asset to use as the SkeletonDataAsset data source. By default, it just detects the most sensible source so you don't need to use it.

Also note that if you name your animations with a "/" character, the context menu will come out as a submenu. That may help you out some.
For example, if you have "Attack/sword1" and "Attack/sword2" and "Attack/magic1".
You will have an "Attack" submenu, with the choices "sword1" "sword2" and "magic1" listed.
In any case, it does make sense to prefix them with something common if they're going to appear as valid choices for the same thing in the inspector.
