Spine itself doesn't directly control how images are packed into an atlas — that's handled by the Spine Texture Packer. However, you do have control over how attachments (regions, meshes, etc.) are positioned and rotated on your skeleton.
Here are the main ways to adjust position and rotation manually:
Region Attachments
For region attachments, you can adjust their position, rotation, and scale directly in the editor. Select the attachment in the tree or viewport, and use the transform properties in the inspector to fine-tune placement. You can find more details in the Region Attachments guide.
Mesh Attachments
For mesh attachments, you can edit individual vertices to precisely control how the image is mapped. See the Mesh Attachments guide for more information.
Transform Tools
You can use Spine's built-in transform tools to adjust bones and attachments:
- The Rotate tool lets you rotate bones around their origin. Hold
shift while dragging to constrain rotation to 15-degree increments.
- The Pose tool lets you adjust both translation and rotation at the same time — drag the bone's origin to translate, or drag anywhere else on the bone to rotate it.
More details are available in the Tools guide.
If you're looking to control atlas packing options (like padding, rotation of packed images, etc.), those settings are available in the Spine Texture Packer settings when you export.
