importing image problem
Hi. I'm new to spine, just started learning yesterday with trial version.
I'm trying to learn export images in PS to Spine, watched the spine user guide video. I placed the script (photoshop to spine jsx)in script folder where photoshop is located.
I used the sample images of spineboy came with the trial and made up quick mock layers in PS to export it to spine, then file, script and photoshoptospine to bring up the window. I gave a name, waited PS to process it and imported the json file in spine.
What I noticed was that images are not attached to the slots. When I looked at the video, each layer has been attached to each slot.
However, when I looked at my screen, images are not attached to slots at all. I'd like to know why.
Also I'm confused about Photoshoptospine script and layerstoPNG script. When I looked at the video, the dialog box showing as layerstopng, not photoshoptoSpine. Are these the same thing? Or am I missing some process? When I checked my trial version, there is no layerstopng in any folders. am i supposed to download it from somewhere else?
Please help. I really want to learn this software. Thank you.
I forgot to attach the screen shot.
Hello! did you possibly have a filter active? Tree - Spine User Guide: Filters try deactivating it to see if images become visible in the tree.
By the way, if you're on the trial, you should see the very first tip being about importing images in Spine.
A longer version that explains the process in detail is here: (just watch the first minutes, they're about importing images with the new script!)
Welcome to Spine!
It looks like your images are assigned to a slot
each, but they haven't yet been assigned to a bone. Just to clarify, the circular icons in the tree are ´slots´. An attachment
in Spine can not be assigned to a bone
without first being assigned to a slot
.
For example, the attachment front-upper-arm
looks to be placed on the front-upper-arm
slot. Under the Images
node, you can see the image is being used indicated by the green icon. The only image that hasn't been assigned a slot in your screenshot, is the Layer 0
image, which is indicated by the orange icon.
