Hello, fellow Spine-imators!
I've recently secured full time work, so I'm helping one of my part time clients find a suitable replacement animator to take over.
The client is Relish Interactive.
I've worked with them for the past two years, so I know they could offer a consistent stream of good work, and they're a pleasant bunch to work with.
For my recommendation, I'm looking for someone who is a clear communicator with an eye for detail. Much of the current work involves carefully converting Toon Boom Harmony rigs to Spine, then replicating the reference cartoon's animation style in Spine. Here is one example of a property like that, which you would be working on.
I'll be creating documentation to walk the new animator through my process for moving from Harmony to Spine, so the most important factor is that you be able to analyze the source material and recreate its animation style well with Spine.
In particular, this involves limiting the frame rate and using stepped keys to avoid interpolation, so the end result plays back more like frame-by-frame animation.
Relish will have plenty of other work which don't require this pseudo-frame-based animation style, but the main projects you would be working with to start both rely heavily upon it, so it's important that I find someone who would feel comfortable working that way.
If you're interested, please share your reel here or via PM and I'll pass the most well-suited candidates along to Relish with my recommendation. Thanks, everyone!
