Made my own Ariel and Flounder characters in Spine. Unofficial of course I just made this for fun. Also I ended up watching The Little Mermaid like 5 times in the course of making these. Scenes were composited in and using VFX from After Effects. Please enjoy the serene visuals and pleasing soundscape. One day I'll make a 10 minute version of the Ariel and Flounder hanging out by the sea. My laptop isn't powerful enough to edit and render it in After Effects unfortunately.

By the way, Serenity by the sea's background and scenery was entirely created using After Effects.

Bonus: Conceptual image I created to help me focus on final look of Serenity by the Sea.

Spine Animations without BGs:

Awesome! Personally, I would like to see it at a higher FPS (I suppose you probably dare to lower the FPS to get closer to frame-by-frame animation, though).

@mikedssx Very cool! I first had the impression that the blink animations are too slow, but then I watched a short original clip and noticed it's actually really slow (perhaps a little bit faster)!

Misaki I agree Misaki I like the high frame rate as well but I have noticed that on the internet it seems to be frowned upon. For some reason. Especially with the advent of the Spiderverse and it's style of low frame rate choppy animation. I do find that style interesting but personally for me it's too choppy. In order to get the low framerate for the short there's an effect called Posterize time so it wasn't destructive changes or anything.

Harald Yeah I agree after working on it for so long and learning After Effects at the same time I got tunnel vision so thank you for the feedback!
