In commonly used versions, selecting the grid while filtering and then unfiltering will return to the grid. However, this is not possible in the latest version. We hope to maintain the same operating habits
Grid selection problem
yugutou Hmmm, I had not noticed this change. I checked several versions and it seems that up to 4.0, the behavior is what you are hoping for, but as of 4.1, the items that were displayed during filtering (e.g., if only bones were displayed, then the parent bones of the mesh) are selected after filtering is off.
The fact that this has been the case since 4.1 means that there must be many users who are used to this behavior, so we will discuss within the Spine team which one is considered better.
By the way, I am concerned that the terminology you are using is different from the correct one. You use the word "grid," but the correct word is "mesh.
As far as I know, the word "网格", which means "mesh" in Chinese UI, tends to be translated into English by machine translation as "grid". Please post to the forum in your native language, as using machine translation before posting to the forum will cause this kind of confusion.
We made this change purposefully, described here:

It used to be whenever you set the tree filter or cleared it, the selection changed based on what was selected in the viewport (the mesh in your example). That can cause things to become selected or unselected when the filter is turned on or off and that is surprising.
For example, in 3.8.99 filter to show bones, slots, and attachments, select a slot, then filter to hide bones. You lose the slot selection, it changes to the mesh to match the viewport, which may not be what you want.
I'm guessing this is the reason you want the selection to change: you filtered the tree some time ago, now you want to edit the mesh. You select the mesh, but you can't see the tree properties because of the filter. You turn off the filter, and you still can't see the mesh properties because the bone is selected. You have to deselect and select the mesh again, or select it in the tree.
If you change the filter and that makes it so there is no selection, then in 4.2.23 we will make the tree selection match the viewport.
I'm not sure in your example that the mesh should be selected. I'll discuss it with the Spine team and get back to you.
In 4.2.23 the auto scroll button controls this:
- When auto scroll is on and tree filters are toggled, the tree selection is changed to match the viewport.
- When auto scroll is off and tree filters are toggled, the tree selection is not changed.
This way you get the 3.8.99 behavior most of the time, as most users leave "auto scroll" on. That is usually what you want.
When you need to use filters to make selections, you can turn off auto scroll if it is messing up your selections.
Some day people will stop using super old versions! Physics are so cool, it's definitely worth updating from 3.8!
