Imported images are blurred
Hello,
I just bought Spine today, and for that occasion I went ahead and created a character for a game I'm currently working on.
The character looks like this in gimp: Image removed due to the lack of support for HTTPS. | Show Anyway
I know it's not the prettiest thing ever, but it's extremely early in development and I just need some quick units mashed together so I have some basic assets for my game.
As you can see, there's a clear border between the pixels.
here's what it looks like when it's been imported to spine: Image removed due to the lack of support for HTTPS. | Show Anyway
is there any way to mess with the import settings?
Also on a side note, is there any way to change the size of the bones? I do not mean length, I want to change the size of the handles so that I can work with small characters.
Thank you so much for reading this far
i think this is probably just the effect of linear texture filtering on your low-res image. Under "settings" you can disable "linear filtering".

Wow thank you very much! That's it.
I didn't even know there was an settings menu in this program :giggle:
I'm now animating my character and it's an awesome program so far
Good you figured it out. Ugh, we really need to get a setting for the size of the bones in, probably won't be any time soon though.
I am testing the trial version right now and do not see a place to deactivate linear filtering (the images are importing as blurry). Where would this be located?
@figureoflife You posted to a 7.5 year old thread! Probably better to create a new thread.
You'll find the setting by clicking the Spine logo in the upper left of the Spine window, then Settings
, then Viewport
. The setting is now called Smoothing
and setting it to 0
will give you nearest neighbor filtering.
Thank you! That worked.
