Skin duplication in Spine

Hi there

I'm fairly new to Spine and I've come across a problem with skins. I had created several duplicate skins and had changed the paths for all the graphics within these skins successfully until I came to my final one. When I started checking through my skins I found one had missing images.

I checked the path of the missing graphics and it had been directed towards the correct folder. I tried changing the name of the folder and directing the images towards that folder instead. This seemed to work but when I checked through my other skins another one now had missing images. I decided to do the same again and changed the name of the folder and changed the path and this worked. But yet another skin now had the missing images.

Are these duplicated skins somehow linked so when I try to change the path of one set of graphics it affects another?

Duplicated skins should not be linked.

Are you using skin placeholders where you're experiencing the path changing?

A screenshot of the tree would help.

Is there a maximum number of skins you can use?

I'm not sure this will work, but it solved the problem for us, try unchecking the "Limit Scanning" button as explained here: Editor not loading all the images

Wow. That seems to have worked. Unchecked it and immediately saw the images that had previously been missing.
