Pharan, the bonefollower is a child of the Enemy object, of which the skeleton obj is also a child. In other words, the skeleton and the bonefollower are "siblings".
What may have been causing the issue was that I was using skele.flipX on start() (because the skeleton naturally faces left and the enemy naturally faces right), and then flipping the entire enemy object's transform for when it needs to turn around. If that doesn't sound like it should cause the issue, I can upload the json when I get back to my computer.
