  • Bought Essential Spine -- Can I save my Trial project?

I made an animation in the Spine Trial version this morning which took me about 4 hours to make. After using the software, I decided to buy the Essential version. But now I still can't save my project which was worked on in Trial and I can't copy/paste that project into the real Essential software either.

Is there a fix to this? I might return my purchase if I can't save my project after buying Spine.

Thanks!

Ahh, I'm very sorry to have to say that the trial doesn't have the capability to save at all. Unfortunately there is not a way to get data out of the trial, which is intended only for exploration of the software rather than production/work.

Sorry I don't have a better answer for you!

Hi Nate, thanks for your response. There's no way whatsoever to get this project data? Even if I've purchased the Essential toolkit? I would imagine there's some copy/paste function or some back-end magic we can use so that I can export this animation?

Please let me know either way. Thanks!

Currently copy/paste is done inside the app, so can't be used to move data out of the trial. We do plan to support copy/paste across Spine instances, which would allow what you need, but haven't gotten to it yet as our enhancement wishlist is very long.

The trial is a separate app from Spine Essential and doesn't have any mechanism to get out the data. I'm afraid there's really no way to get your animation data from the trial.

I think the best that can be done is to leave the trial running and use it as a guide for the poses in your animation. You could screenshot the trial and put those images in Spine Essential (eg uncheck Select and Export for those images) so you can match up poses on top of them. I realize this of course isn't ideal, though it is a one-time pain.

That should work given the circumstances. I appreciate the help Nate. Thanks
