Image missing:

For some animations there is one frame where the images are "missing" when being rendered or exported. These images are exactly the same throughout the entire animation and are not being marked as missing in Spine itself.

This happens in exporting both GIF and video files.

I have noticed by experimenting back and forth with some settings that the lower the framerate the lower the chance is of this occuring. So my guess is that there is some mini frame in between where it somehow skips the images? But none of the images that are missing are changed or show as missing in the editor. I also enabled the setting in the menu to not show it like that, but that doesn't work?

Example of same character rig but 2 slightly different animations (same export settings):

Edit: Some more digging. The issue starts happening after either rendering a video OR swapping between animations. My guess is on swapping between animations.

Transparency issue:

Sometimes when exporting a gif as transparant, in some frames it draws a background.

(sorry for disco!)

Both in official version and in current beta these issues occur. The image missing is very annoying, maybe it is not a bug and I did something wrong somewhere, in that case do let me know how to fix this! I also restarted spine a bunch of times to see if it was a temp issue but the issue persists through.

Can you provide a project and steps so we can see the problem? Or maybe you can provide steps so we can see the problem with an example project?

I just edited the post with some more information. Did not expect a reply this fast!

I did some more digging after that.. being a problem solver myself lol ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it might be related to entering a different name for the file while exporting?

How I think it goes:

  1. picks animation to export
  2. changes name in file exporter
  3. image breaks
  4. export once again, without changing name
  5. reselect animation (might not need to do this)
  6. render without changing the name
  7. no issue

I decided to make a quick video to show when exactly it goes wrong:

(I edited the export waiting times in between so it moves along quicker in the video)
For now I can bypass it this way but it might help you narrow down the search?

Sorry, didn't mean for this to fall through the cracks. Is this still a problem in 3.6.29-beta? Some things regarding image loading have been improved.

Haven't come across it this far again. Have mostly been using Unity these past days but today I exported some images and it seemed okay in 3.6.30-beta. Will give it another test tomorrow when I'm rendering all my animations for jury ๐Ÿ™‚

I'll keep you posted!

Edit:
Can confirm, it's still there. While exporting Quicktime the error occured again with the missing images, so it's still there
(same for avi and GIF)

Since I'm test-exporting, reminds me: a cancel export button would be nice ๐Ÿ™‚ So I don't have to wait for the entire render to be done in case something doesn't work or I forgot something.

If you can share a project that shows the problem and steps so we can see, we'd love to get it fixed!

Is that new? Because I don't have it ๐Ÿ™‚

I will share the project after the weekend? I have jury tomorrow for my thesis if you remember ๐Ÿ˜‰
