  • [Request] Remember last folder exported to from this file

I just updated from 3.4 all the way to 3.6.53, and one of the first things I encountered was a confusing change in the way it chooses what folder to export to. Back in 3.4, it would default to a location within Spine's directories, but once you changed it, that specific project file would always default to that new location, so each project file just needs to be set once and that's it.

But now, unless I'm missing something, it defaults to the last exported folder, no matter what file it was exported from? So if I export from project file A to folder A, then open file B, it defaults to folder A. So then I set it to folder B, then re-open file A and now that's set to export to folder B. I work with a large number of smaller files so I run into this a lot, and basically never remember to check the export folder on my first try. That's a habit I could break but it'd be nice if I didn't have to, since this way only seems slower to me with few upsides.

I checked the settings and didn't see an option about this. I see the ability to favorite folders with a star to make them easier to get to, but again, I'm working with a lot of files so that list will end up being the same as finding the correct folder from a long list anyway. Unless I'm missing something, since I only recently updated, could we get an option to save the export folder per project file, or default to the folder the project file is in, or anything like that?

Hello SullyTheStrange,
when you export Spine should use the path of the project, if the project doesn't have one, it uses the last path exported to.
If you export and then save, the exported path will save within your Spine project file, but if you export and don't save the project after, the last export path won't be saved in the project.
This is likely what happened to you because I just checked and this exact behavior is still the same across beta and last stable versions of Spine.

Yup looks like that was the issue, thanks. I always save BEFORE exporting, didn't realize saving again afterwards would actually affect anything... My bad then. :$
