Hey there.
When I uncheck the "Export" box in the options of an image it still is exported. I'm not sure if this is maybe an unfinished feature... so sorry, if so.
Image option: unchecking "Export" doesn't do anything

This is not a bug, if the image is keyed in an animation it will still be exported, otherwise it won't (:
